From February 2, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. PST to February 16, 2025, at 9:59 p.m. PST, Pokémon TCG Pocket is hosting the Cresselia ex Drop Event. This event invites players to participate in solo battles against Psychic-type decks, offering an excellent opportunity to utilize Darkness-type decks and earn exclusive rewards.
Event Overview
During the event, players can challenge four tiers of battles, each increasing in difficulty. Victories grant various rewards, including a chance to obtain a Cresselia ex promo card featuring exclusive artwork. The five promo cards available in this event are:
- Cresselia ex
- Electivire
- Turtwig
- Skarmory
- Misdreavus
Participation Requirements
To engage in event battles, players need Event Stamina. Each victory consumes one Event Stamina, which regenerates over time or can be replenished using Event Hourglasses. Notably, Event Stamina is only deducted upon winning a battle; losses do not affect your stamina count.

Beginner
- First-Time Rewards: 2 Pack Hourglasses, 50 Shinedust, 1 Shop Ticket, 25 XP
- Chance Rewards: 51% chance for 1 Promo Pack A Series Vol. 4, 100% chance for 25 Shinedust, 38.7% chance for 1 Shop Ticket
- Battle Tasks:
- Knock out your opponent's Active Pokémon once with a Darkness-type Pokémon attack
- Put 3 Basic Pokémon into play
Intermediate
- First-Time Rewards: 4 Pack Hourglasses, 100 Shinedust, 1 Shop Ticket, 50 XP
- Chance Rewards: 64% chance for 1 Promo Pack A Series Vol. 4, 100% chance for 25 Shinedust, 48.3% chance for 1 Shop Ticket
- Battle Tasks:
- Knock out your opponent's Active Pokémon twice with Darkness-type Pokémon attacks
- Make your opponent's Active Pokémon asleep once
- Win the battle by turn 14
Advanced
- First-Time Rewards: 6 Pack Hourglasses, 150 Shinedust, 1 Shop Ticket, 75 XP
- Chance Rewards: 80% chance for 1 Promo Pack A Series Vol. 4, 100% chance for 25 Shinedust, 60.4% chance for 1 Shop Ticket
- Battle Tasks:
- Win 5 or more battles
- Win using a deck where all Pokémon cards are of ♦, ♦♦, and/or ♦♦♦ rarity
- Win the battle by turn 14
- Win without your opponent earning any points
Expert
- First-Time Rewards: 8 Pack Hourglasses, 200 Shinedust, 1 Shop Ticket, 100 XP
- Chance Rewards: 100% chance for 1 Promo Pack A Series Vol. 4, 100% chance for 25 Shinedust, 75.5% chance for 1 Shop Ticket
- Battle Tasks:
- Win using a deck where all Pokémon cards are of ♦, ♦♦, and/or ♦♦♦ rarity
- Win the battle by turn 12
- Win without your opponent earning any points
- Win 10 or more battles
- Win 20 or more battles
Strategies for Success
- Utilize Darkness-Type Decks: Given the prevalence of Psychic-type opponents, Darkness-type decks are advantageous. Consider using Pokémon like Darkrai ex or Weezing to exploit type weaknesses.
